Alan Pegg
Alan Pegg has been a passionate campaigner for global justice and Fair Trade issues for some years. He was inspired through Oxfam campaigns and a fund-raising walk he did in 2002 in South Africa for children suffering from AIDS. He has kept the continuity with Kidzpositive, a charity based in Cape Town, by displaying and selling the wonderful beadwork products made by the mothers and grandmothers in and around Cape Town. The sale of their work produces vital money for the charity.

Alan also now sells at local markets, particularly the Muesli Mountain Market in Hanover, many other Fair Trade products from small groups in Kolkata and Syria. These include beautiful embroidered greetings cards from Jeevika, other cards and gift products from Calcutta Rescue, Silence and Anka Kala. Also some wonderful cushion covers from Syria. All of these products express the creative skills of the producers.
Alan believes that trading fairly with small groups in the Developing World brings the greatest opportunity for peace and global justice.
